Flooding suspends services between Liskeard and Looe

Informations complémentaires:The line between Liskeard and Looe has flooded following a period of recent heavy rain.
This heavy rain combined with high tides has meant that the water level at several bridges on the route between these stations has risen above the level that is deemed safe to run trains. As a result of this, the service on the branch line is currently suspended.
Before the line is able to reopen and trains are able to run again, the bridges will need to be inspected by Network Rail and a team of specialist divers to ensure that the flooding has not damaged any of the bridge structures. Until this can be done, trains will be unable to operate.
This is expected to be the case until at least the end of the day on Monday 5 January.
Please note, there is no timetabled service on Sunday 4 January.
Customer advice:
Replacement road transport, in the form of minibuses, will run between Liskeard and Looe. The minibuses will call at St Keyne village (for St Keyne Wishing Well Halt), Duloe village (for Causeland) and Sandplace.
Online journey planners have been updated to include the replacement road transport. Please note it may run later than the advertised train times as a result of the additional time taken by road between stations, and the time needed for loading and unloading at each stop.
The designated stops for the replacement road transport are as follows:
Liskeard - at the front of the station.
St Keyne Wishing Well Halt - opposite the community centre in St Keyne village, an approximate 20 minute journey by foot from the station.
Causeland - at the bus stops in Duloe village by the Community Shop on the B3254, an approximate 30 minute journey by foot from the station.
Sandplace - bus stops by the station entrance.
Looe - at the front of the station.
Additional information:
The current estimate for the bridges to be inspected by a team of specialist divers is during the day on Monday 5 January. However, it remains possible that even once the inspections are carried out, the line may not be safe to reopen.

Major engineering work disrupts various National Rail routes during festive period

Informations complémentaires:There will be lots of planned essential engineering works and upgrades taking place during the festive period as Network Rail works to improve the railway. If you are travelling over the festive period, please check your journey before you travel to avoid disappointment.
Major engineering work:
Network Rail carry out essential improvement and engineering work across the rail network during the Christmas and New Year period as fewer people usually travel by train.
This year the following major engineering work will be taking place:
No trains will run to or from London Waterloo station or Vauxhall on Saturday 27 December and Sunday 28 December. Trains will start from and terminate at Clapham Junction or other stations. A limited service will run to and from London Waterloo from Monday 29 December to Sunday 4 January.
No trains will run between Milton Keynes Central and Rugby / Northampton from Saturday 27 December to Sunday 4 January. Journeys on the West Coast Main Line between London Euston and the Midlands / North West England / Scotland will be significantly disrupted by this work, with extended journey times.
No trains will run between Cambridge and Cambridge North, Bury St Edmunds and Stansted Airport from Saturday 27 December to Sunday 4 January. Significant changes will be made to journeys in the Cambridge area and a journey to and from Cambridge station will involve using a replacement bus.
Amended service between Leeds and York from Saturday 27 December to Sunday 25 January. Train services on the main route between these cities will be amended.
Amended service between Preston and Carlisle from Thursday 1 January to Wednesday 14 January. Journeys through this part of the West Coast Main Line will be significantly disrupted, with train diversions and buses replacing trains.
Buses will replace trains between Carlisle and Lockerbie from Thursday 1 January to Wednesday 14 January. Journeys on the West Coast Main Line between Carlisle and Glasgow / Edinburgh will be disrupted.

Significant snowfall disrupts Caledonian Sleeper services

Informations complémentaires:As a result of the significant snowfall across northern Scotland, a number of routes are currently closed.
Caledonian Sleeper have made the decision to cancel a number of their services that were due to run last night / into this morning.
Please note, those services that do operate are running to an amended timetable due to engineering work taking place.
The following services will be cancelled in full:
Inverness to London.
London to Inverness.
Aberdeen to London.
London to Aberdeen.
Fort William to London.
London to Fort William.
Full refunds will be provided to the original payment card for bookings made directly with Caledonian Sleeper. If you booked through a third-party retailer, please contact them directly to arrange your refund.
Unfortunately, due to the current road and rail conditions, there will be no alternative transport available.

Heavy snow disrupts services across northern Scotland

Informations complémentaires:Heavy snow is causing disruption to services across northern Scotland. There are yellow and amber weather warnings in place for snow and ice.
As a result of the weather forecast, customers should expect cancellations, alterations or heavy delays to services running in the areas affected by the poor weather.
Disruption to journeys is expected to continue until the end of the day.
LNER customer advice:
Fewer trains are able to run on some lines towards the North. Train services running through Edinburgh may be cancelled, delayed or started from Edinburgh. All stations after Edinburgh will not be served.
LNER are advising customers not to travel between Edinburgh and Aberdeen / Inverness. No rail replacement transport will be provided.
You can also use your ticket at no extra cost on ScotRail services between Edinburgh and Aberdeen but please note that at present, these services are only operating between Edinburgh and Dundee.
Tickets dated for travel on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 January will be valid for travel up to and including Thursday 8 January at no extra cost.

Trains will be disrupted on the following routes:
Glasgow Queen Street and Aberdeen / Inverness.
Edinburgh and Aberdeen / Inverness.
Aberdeen and Inverness.
Inverness and Kyle of Lochalsh / Wick.
Trains are currently unable to run to / from Thurso.
Rail replacement transport:
ScotRail have requested buses to run between Thurso, Wick and Georgemas Junction, and to be on standby at Aberdeen, Dundee and Inverness. As a result of the weather conditions causing road closures, it is not currently safe to provide rail replacement transport.
Alternative travel options:
You can use your ticket, at no additional cost, on ScotRail services via any reasonable route to your destination.
If you have an advance ticket to travel to / from any of the affected stations, you may use it to travel on any alternative train service to complete your journey today at no extra cost.
You are advised to make alternative arrangements or to postpone travel as it can not be guaranteed you will be able to complete your journey.
Tickets dated from Friday 2 January until Monday 5 January will be valid for travel on services on Tuesday 6 January and Wednesday 7 January at no extra cost.

Engineering works result in no train services at South Bermondsey station

Informations complémentaires:Engineering work is currently taking place at South Bermondsey station. This work is not due to be finished on time, and is now expected to be finished by the end of the day.
Train services running through this station will be running non stop between Queens Rd Peckham and London Bridge. South Bermondsey will not be served.
This is expected until the end of the day.
Customer Advice:
South Bermondsey station will be closed today, as engineering works have not been finished on time.
Lines through the station will be open, but Southern services will be unable to stop there, and will run non-stop between Queens Road Peckham and London Bridge in both directions.
We expect that the station will reopen on Tuesday, 6 January.
For journeys to or from South Bermondsey today, you can use the following alternatives at no extra cost:
London buses on Routes 1, 21, 47, 381 and P12, serving the South Bermondsey area.
London Overground (Windrush line) services between New Cross Gate, Surrey Quays and Canada Water.
London Underground services on the Jubilee line between Canada Water and London Bridge.
Alternative Southern services between New Cross Gate and London Bridge.
When using these alternative routes, journeys will take at least 20 minutes longer, so please allow extra time.

Can you tell me more about the incident?
Network Rail have been carrying out engineering works over the festive period to rebuild the platforms at South Bermondsey station.
The work has taken longer than expected and as such the station is expected to remain closed for an additional day in order to allow these works to be completed. The station is expected to reopen on Tuesday, 6 January instead.

Urgent repairs cause reduced service on routes between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier

Informations complémentaires:Urgent repairs to the railway were required between Brockenhurst and Lymington Pier. Although some of the necessary work has been completed, further work is required before a full service is able to operate on this line.
Trains have been reduced to an hourly service until the repairs have been fully completed.
This is expected until the end of the day on Friday 9 January.
Customer advice:
Following urgent repairs to the railway, all lines have now reopened. Whilst repairs have taken place to reopen the line, further work is required to fully rectify the issue.
As a result, trains will be subject to minimal delay while they run at a reduced speed along the line, and the service will be reduced to an hourly service in order to minimise disruption.

Trains services running through Stoke-On-Trent and Macclesfield may be diverted via Crewe. Therefore, Stoke-On-Trent and Macclesfield will not be served.

Points failure disrupts routes between Carlisle and Whitehaven

Informations complémentaires:A points failure between Carlisle and Whitehaven means that all lines are blocked. As a result, trains running between these stations may be cancelled or revised.
Disruption is expected until 09:00.
Customer advice:
Road replacement transport has been requested. Further information will follow once confirmed.
Journey times will be extended by up to 60 minutes when using road replacement transport.
Trains running between Corkickle and Barrow-in-Furness are not currently affected.
Northern train ticket restrictions have been lifted in the affected areas, including Advance and Peak restrictions, during this disruption. Restrictions will be reinstated once the disruption ends.
